Holy Glaze - El Segundo

Heyyy sexy people,

I hope you are having a good summer. My summer has been pretty slow, but I am still getting to experience new experiences. It's only my first time at life. Anyways, this Holy Glaze about one of my favorite bands, El Segundo (Daniel) y Los Minutos (Eddie, Francis, Ryan).

RAHHHHHH. My favorite part about them is their excellence in musicality, especially in live settings. I even told this to Daniel after a show when I barely knew him. I think that they have a particular sound, but it doesn't become repetitive because they have the range to pull it off. I only mention this because some artists do become repetitive with their unique sounds. And I don't like when that happens lol. Their Soul Tape session is so good I watched it twice two days in a row. For my number one song, Toto Ah Viuh takes the spot. I love the simplicity of the studio version, it gets straight to the point (even though I have no idea what the song is about because it's in Spanish) and the fullness of the live version. The belting part is so satisfying to hear & to belt yourself. *insert clip of me belting that shi at a show* This song feels like if someone important to me was telling me it's going to be okay. Like yes, you've been through the trenches, but the sun rises again tomorrow morning and you'll always have space in my arms. Warm huggy yellow. I need to ask them what the song is about lol. But I do like the mysteriousness because it feels like my little secret.

Midnight Fontana, From the Dead, Forastero, Is There Ever Any End to it? have been in my playlist for awhile now. Side story: So Long (Cold Embrace) There's this chanting part "take no bite" that I heard it as "techno bite/time/pop" for the longest time and I still sing it as techno bite. Oops. If they were food, they'd be salted brown butter chocolate chip cookies. Or poached egg with hollandaise sauce on english muffin with bacon. Yes, I am hungry as I am writing this :P

@el_segundo_dg is the Instagram. Allegedly, they won't be performing a whole lot for the rest of the year to focus on writing and shit. It's always good to slow things down so other aspects of your craft can be attended to. But if you get the chance to watch them live, go fucking do it. In the meantime, go outside, wear sunscreen. ☀
